As you might have guessed from yesterdays post, a friend and I visited the German premiere of the upcoming film Kingsman: The Secret Service which was hosted by ProSieben & Twentieth Century Fox. I watched the trailer and it seemed like a cool film. A spy film with English men in suits, this was right up my alley. in the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz. We reserved a table at Lindenbräu in the Sony Center, right by the window because we wanted the best view to spy on whos arriving on the red carpet. Before the film started, Take That performed their new single “Get ready for it” on the balcony of the Sony Center. Kingsman: The Secret Serive is directed by Matthew Vaugn, and the lead cast is occupied by Colin Firth, Taron Egerton (who both attended the premiere) and Samuel L. Jackson (the villain). I must admit, I was already looking forward to seeing this film and it exceeded all my expectations. How to describe the film, a crossbreed of 007 and Kick-Ass. It’s no coincidence that it’s got a 8,3/10 rating on IMDB. It’s become very rare that a film captivates you and keeps you engaged throughout. The action was amazing and I really loved watching Colin Firth kick some ass! Samuel L. Jackson was very fun to watch as a villain as well. I don’t think I’ve had that much fun watching a film in a really long time. The action is fast-paced and there’s a lot of comedy too. I love how they execute the violence, it’s very clever and like nothing I have ever seen before. The ‘violence’ never extended beyond being comically gruesome. I can guarantee that you will have an entertaining time with this film. Definitely a must see film!
